A Review - King of Thorns - Mark Lawrence
I love this book, and this series of books so much. This book does a fantastic job of developing the characters alongside the progression of the story, never stopping one or the other for too long to focus on the other. The pacing is slightly slower than the first book however that really helps in giving you time to develop an attachment to each character which is something the first book maybe lost in all its action. The nods to the old world are superbly done, sprinkled in just sparcely enough that it doesn't grow tedious, and frequently enough that they serve a purpose. I never thought I'd read a sword and shield fantasy novel that contained a no overnight parking sign so 10/10 for that.
I really can't recommend this series enough.
